Who We Help

Our inpatient hospital in Mesa, Arizona, serves people located in the greater Phoenix area and cities across the state. We offer acute care for adolescents, adults, and older adults who are suffering from a variety of behavioral health disorders.

Mental health concerns we treat include:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Psychosis
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Schizophrenia

We also provide treatment for people who have substance use disorders and dual diagnoses. Our team recognizes the importance of integrated care for those who are dealing with co-occurring concerns, and we provide treatment that can address both conditions  simultaneously. At Agave Ridge Behavioral Hospital, we offer comprehensive support that promotes true healing and recovery, helping our patients lay the groundwork for better health.

Our Approach to Addiction Treatment

People who have developed substance use disorders often require detoxification as a first step in addiction treatment. At our inpatient hospital, we provide on-site medical detox services to help patients end their substance use successfully and without having to experience the uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal. Detox programming may involve the use of medications to ease physical discomfort and therapy to address the mental aspects of addiction.

Our detox services, which are available for adolescents, adults, and senior adults, are delivered by anaddictionologist who is trained and certified to provide substance use disorder treatment. The program generally lasts for seven to 10 days, though the length of time may vary depending on the type of substance the patient is detoxing from and the duration and frequency of their substance use.

While detox can be a crucial initial step in addiction treatment, detox alone is not sufficient for sustained recovery. After patients complete the detox process, they are guided through the next phase of treatment in our inpatient program. We strive to ensure that our patients feel supported and encouraged throughout their stay at our hospital. We also want to make sure that they feel comfortable knowing what to expect while they are in our care, so we take the time to explain each step of the treatment process with them.

Inpatient Programming

Our inpatient program is a short-term treatment option for people who need intensive support for acute concerns. At our treatment center, patients can receive round-the-clock care to help them stabilize so that they can return home or transition to a lower level of care. Patients typically remain in our inpatient program for five to 13 days depending on their needs and progress during treatment. We work closely with each patient to determine the program duration that can help them make strides toward healing, so the actual length of stay may vary from person to person.

As part of our personalized treatment approach, we conduct an initial assessment for each patient that helps us identify their unique needs and treatment goals and better understand their overall health history. We use these details to tailor their care in a way that can yield the best outcomes. Those in the inpatient program can receive basic medical care, medication management services, and detox services as needed. They may also take part in transformative therapy sessions in a group setting. We offer cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychoeducation groups that cover a variety of topics, like relapse prevention, education, goal setting, life skills, and coping mechanisms.

What We Offer

We want our patients to feel comfortable and cared for during the treatment process so that they can fully focus on getting well. For this reason, we have designed our treatment center to be a place of hope and healing. Our modern inpatient hospital offers a serene setting where those who are struggling can leave the chaos of their daily lives behind and engage in self-reflection.

The treatment experience at Agave Ridge Behavioral Hospital includes:

  • Detailed evaluations: We conduct an in-depth evaluation at the time of admission to learn more about our patients and how we can help them achieve their short- and long-term wellness goals.
  • Compassionate care: Our team is comprised of professionals who are experts in their fields and truly care about the well-being of those we serve. We provide emotional support to empower our patients to pursue healthier, more fulfilling lives.
  • Customized treatment plans: We provide our patients with only the therapies and services that can help them make meaningful progress toward improved wellness. We carefully create each patient’s treatment plan using the details we gather from their evaluation so that they can get the most out of their time with us.
  • Evidence-based practices: We incorporate a range of research-backed therapies and services, like CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and 12-Step programming. These interventions have proved to be highly effective in the treatment of mental health concerns and addictions.
  • Detailed aftercare plans: Treatment is often just one step on a person’s journey to better health. For this reason, we provide our patients with comprehensive continuing care plans to support their ongoing success. Aftercare plans can include referrals to follow-up services or a less restrictive level of care.
